If it was TOMATO I would tell people it was pronounced
Tome-a-toe with the accent on tome. If it was SQUASH I would tell people it was pronounced Sosh (silent Q) and then I could stand having those vegetable names.

I would like the name Tomato -- not so much Squash. Then again, I currently have the same last name as a lunatic.
"You say 'Tomato', I say, 'yes?'"
