There were two mega tsunamis in the last few years around the time of the winter solstice. Could there have been a connection between the tsunamis and the solstice, or not?

Nope. Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes or massive mudslides, earthslides, etc. The length of the day doesn't have anything to do with that. There's nothing mystical or magical about the solstices or equinoxes - it's just another time in the cycle of the earth's revolution around the sun.

Hi. My guess is no. The forces that cause them are local and probably not caused by the Sun's gravity. The Moon may be a different matter but has nothing to do with the solstice.
