I think the parents are trying way too hard to be different and unique. Naming your daughter a boys name these days is just following the herd, it's a trend that will seem ridiculous in years to come You wouldn't name your son Lily or Madeleine so why name your daughter Ryan or James? I think it's setting the child up for teasing, especially if she grows up a bit butch or manly, and it's likely to always cause confusion. Most would see Ryan written down and assume she was male. There are plenty of strong, beautiful girls' names without resorting to masculine names on girls.

The only unisex name I like is Harper. And I can tolerate Quinn on a girl, but I love it on a boy.
