They put stickers on your items in your bags when you
come in so that when you go to the service desk and return
your item/s, they'll know that you actually did purchase them
and it shows that the people greeter is doing their job.
I was once a greeter for Walmart and I prevented
a $400. electronics theft just by asking to see the person's
receipt as he was exiting the store. He had no receipt but he
searched for another exit in back of the store and was caught.

It's actaully a gps system and they are secrtly tracking your whereabouts right now. Wal-mart is planning on taking over the world one shopper at a time.

It's called "fine motor skills" training. It also reinforces the concept of shapes and sequence and spacial relationships.
Don't you know this? Didn't you get to stick things onto sheets of paper when you were in kindergarten or day care?
