The male will start to pester and breed with the females straight away, Once pregnant the female can store sperm for 6 months. This means the female can have up to 6 batches of babys without a male present, How long will it take for the female to have THE BABY?, Try 'BABYS' (also known as fry), Once a female is pregnant it can take anything from 4-6 weeks to give birth and can usualy give birth to 10-30 babys per batch, They adult fish will eat the babys if there isnt anough hiding places,, Provide bottom plants and floating plants (fake or real) I dont suggest you use a breeder box as the female does get stressed and they do die on some ocasions, There is a large chance that the female is allreaedy pregannt if it was with males at the pet store.
Good luck

EDIT: Someone below said that a guppie cant release babies for about a year- This is probibly because they got pregant at a young age (Sex's were not seprated when young)
This often results in not many fry from the female and they sometimes die at a young age.

depends on if they are already prego or not. I bought a guppy 6 weeks ago and two day later i had babies. But then I bought another guppy a week after that and still no more babies. Female guppies can mate with a male and wait like a year or something to actually have the babies

It should take about 30 seconds for the male to start sniffing around. As for how long before she drops them, depends a bit on her condition and age, she may already be pregnant. A month or so maybe.

the accepted brooding era for woman guppies is approximately 4 weeks or so. with the aid of fact which you have one male and a couple of ladies, watch them frequently. If the male seems to be "bouncing" off a woman's underbelly earlier realining himself next to her, it skill they're in the skill of mating. proceed tracking them on occasion, exchange their die around once you start to work out the ladies' physique bloat somewhat (as a guppy breeder in my previous time, I advise switching out food huge-unfold from flakes, to bloodworms, to sinking pellets to offer a distinctive weight loss application). as quickly as the ladies seem to maintain to themselves, place them in a breeder's cage and save her there until eventually she releases her youthful alive. do not freak out if she starts eating some fry, as that's organic for mothers to realize this. in spite of the undeniable fact that, in case you propose of raising the extra youthful, place feathery sort vegetation in the breeder's cage so the fry have a place to conceal from the discern. whilst the mummy is doing giving beginning, return her to the stronger tank and enable the fry boost for some month in the breeder's cage earlier freeing them in the tank with the mother and father whilst they're reliable adequate to flee them. I feed my fry finely overwhelmed flakes at first and whilst they start to tutor shade, swap out the diets to make it distinctive. you will quickly have a school of satisfied guppies.
