Hello everyone. My husband and I separated a little over a month ago, and he says he wants a divorce. We still talk to each other, but not about us. I mentioned to him the possibility of getting back together, but he was silent and had no response. What are the common signs that he truly wants a divorce.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I am afraid to tell you this, but If he is asking for a divorce from you, that is the sign.
You asked him to confirm and if he stayed quiet, he wants a divorce. Don't make it difficult for both of you. You are in a denial right now. That's why even when he said it himself, you want to find other signs. Let him go. Things get very sour during divorce. Try to avoid that....
Good luck

I agree with the others for the most part...he said it, he probably means it. Men don't generally beat around the bush like us women. On the other hand, you should let him know how you feel and fight for your marriage until the ink is dry on the divorce papers. Tell how much you want him back and that you want to work on the problems, but don't push. Ask him over for dinner...no talk of getting back together or other serious talk (unless he does it), just cook him a nice meal and relax, open a bottle of wine and talk about whatever. Keep the conversation light hearted and chipper.

He wants a divorce. He said he wants a divorce. You are separated. When you mentioned getting back together, he did not respond. Those are all common signs of divorce.

Maybe if you'd LISTEN to him, you could gain his respect, and possibly, in the future, get back together. But it sounds like you don't listen, and he's frustrated.

Communication is still open in your relationship, so why not address the issues and discuss it in a mature and open minded manner. As far as signs and signals they are too various to even attempt to start. But a good talk might bring about honesty and a resolve to either dissolve the relationship or attempt to resurrect it. Hopefully you two can remain friendly towards each other regardless of outcome. Best of luck and hope that you receive your answer from him shortly.

I am unsure. The day after our wedding my husband has been saying and has not stopped. Action speaks louder than words. If i was not in a similar situation maybe i could answer but another time i might have an answer.

When someone knocks on your door asks for you and says "You've been served" and hands you a packet of paperwork would be a very good sign. If you REALLY want to know then you will have to ASK your husband what he wants.

Look, guys are NOT subtle. They don't drop "hints".

If a man says he wants a divorce...he's serious.

I have gotten back with ex-bfs before. If you ask about getting back together and his reply is silence, it ain't happening!

I think he's pretty much given you his answer! If he remained silent when you mentioned it, that means it's a big "no" for him. I'm sorry, honey, but he's moved on.

I would fight for him if there are children involved, otherwise, let it go, he's not there with you is he OR maybe he wants to make you jealous and feels this is a good "wake up".
