Is this a transposition of terms...public school by definition is free...the moment you pay becomes private.
However, I went to private all my life..so I do prefer private school.

private school. however, when i do have kids, i am still going to try to send them to one. the kind of stuff that goes on in public schools anymore is just outrageous. good luck.

if public school wasn't free all the kids on drugs would be going to private school so i would send my kids to public.

if private school were free, it would no longer be private....I paid to send my child to private school through high school and it was worth it.

I'd still send him / her / them to public school, just a very good one: I went to a catholic school for a couple of years when I was younger, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life!
