Do you think they'd succeed a lot better if they just knocked on my door and politely asked me to quiet down? I think that would work a lot better, don't you...?!?

(I made be a rock god...but I'm civilized, and respond well to polite protest...I would simply say..."Sure...Sorry 'bout that...I just got carried away...I'll try harder not to do that...")

Whaddaya think?...Sound reasonable...? (because stomping will just make me think they're dancing to my music...so I'll just feel encouraged to...

..."up" the volume...) (evil grin on my face...)

It is interesting to see you prefer one translation to another simply because of the way it effects your emotions.
Intrinsically you understand and resent the violence of the intrusion. so you chose another definition, for shear obstinance.
Yet in your recitation you outline clearly that you understood and dismissed the meaning.
Be patient with these little ones, it isn't easy to approache the throne of a Rock God.

I've live in your neighbors shoes. You have not lived in an apartment very much. Are you civilized? Are you being a good neighbor? Are you being respectful? I think you need to think about one of the Golden Rules of life. Do Unto others as you would do unto your self. Keep the music down or you my find your self on the street with no place to go.Or a black eye.

I agree with you, there is probably a better way to approach you, but then you probably woke them up, that would make anyone mad. What hour are you playing all this music? I'm sure you know when you are getting too loud without your neighbour having to come downstairs in their pajamas to tell you, why not just be respectful of your neighbours and not get too loud in the first place?You have every right to play your music, but you have no right to intrude on their peace.

Come play in the mountains, play by the sea, rockin your rhythms in true harmony. Birds will applaud with the thunder of wings as Mourning doves croon while the nightingale sings. How about it? You wanna get together and write some lyrics?

~~~ RU4REAL the "Civilized" thing to do is switch to Reggae Music. Playing it loudly at all times would be considered a "Public Service" in my book. I would come down stairs and thank you. Then make requests. Can you play any Bob Marley? "Lively Up Yourself". ~~~
I thought you were supposed to ask, and keep it low.
