Yes - it's great, I don't use the jerome russell peroxide though - I use the cheap 79p liquid one from the chemist (saves a fortune and works just as well). It's best to use 30vols peroxide - it's the most effective without burning your scalp to shreds.

Also, use a plastic bowl and plastic spoon to stir it! And stick a carrier bag on your head to hold in the heat while it does its do, it's more efficient. Give it 20 minutes and then check it - you can scrape a bit of the blue off to see. Also, start at the back and work forward when applying. A tinting brush can really help too.

Also, leave it a couple of days with no washing before you add your colour... your hair will thank you for it :-)

Well it depends upon what colour you are starting off from, if your hair was previously permanently coloured then you may never get your hair light enough if you didn't first use a colour remover, it will most likely go to the orange stage and will stay there no matter how much you bleach it. if your hair is natural then it shouldn't be a problem, if your hair is naturally fair then 1 round of 45 mins should get you pale yellow, if you are naturally dark haired then it may take 2 rounds of 45 mins so if you only bought one box you may need to go and get another one. your hair will go through stages whilst lightening, please see swatch for guidance: http://photobucket.com/albums/j157/platinum_girly/shades.jpg bleach to the pale yellow stage ONLY if you try and bleach to white then your hair WILL break and the punky colour won't take. oh and bleach is bleach, the only differences are the coloured toners that are added to some- hence why you might get white (pure) blue or violet bleaches and the strength of developer (peroxide) used with them will determine just how FAST the hair will lighten- faster means more damage.
