Well, for all those with your backsides in your hands, a lot of businesses around Manchester have been majorly affected by the smoking ban, in particular shisha bars. These are a big cultural thing and a specific place to smoke - if you don't like smoke, then don't go in there. Ditto with pubs - it's a haven for smokers and drinkers. If you don't like smoke, then don't go to the pub - or go to a non-smoking one.

The fact is, we need a choice, not just a blanket ban.

This law will never be relaxed. The health and safety crowd will oppose relaxation on the grounds that passive smoking is dangerous, and whatever smokers may think, this disgusting and anti social habit has had it's day except among a few die hards who think that it's acceptable for them to poison the air that the rest of us breathe for no good reason.

Love reading the same old "If you don't like the smoke, don't go to the pub"

I say "If you don't like the smoking ban, don't go to the pub"

At least my way, you are only killing yourself.

PS Good response, your march with 3 other people will have a huge impact

PPS Looked at your link - its laughable. No debate, about 7 threads with vitually no replies some dating back to Mach last year - really funny!!

Pubs are starting to close down now, wait till we get to winter, we should not have had a total ban, now the goverment has got away with this, what next? you non-smokers will see the light, when the goverment starts banning everything.

"If you don't like smoke, then don't go to the pub"

Most people don't buy their cigarettes from the pub. Smokers have no more right to be in there than non-smokers. People don't want to breathe in the smoke or have their clothes stink of cigarrete smoke.

Tough, pubs will now attract more custom.
