I enjoy mostly swimming in a large clean lake that is fed on one end and empties at the other end. With clean cold sweet water. Nothing feels better on a hot summer day.

I am not prissy because I swim at the pool but I also enjoy the ocean. My family & friends just got back from a week at Ocean Isle near Myrtle Beach.

I was a competitive swimmer from sixth grade through my senior year in high school and I have swam in lakes, rivers-Ohio and oceans-Atlantic, but I never liked it and don't want to do it again. I had a problem (phobia) about not being able to see what is under the water! One time here in Indiana, a guy went to a coal mine stripper pit that is now a lake and went swimming with his girlfriend and another couple and jumped in and landed on a water moccasin nest and was attacked by all of them and he died. That was it for me. Pools only!

You'd think I would pick the ocean seeing as I live near one, but I don't really like swimming in it. Lakes I like. Rivers are good too. and I usually go swimming in a pool seeing as we own one.

I love swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. Rivers and lakes around here have too many gators.

Well i never been to the ocean...i havent been to the lake in years..but i never had a problem with it..and as for RIVERS..i swam in them when i lived in Tennessee..but here where i live by the Ohio River..there are steel mills that empty their toxic wastes into it..and they are constantly cathcing pirahnas outta it and dead bodies are always being found floating around..sooo ehhh..no river for me..unless i wanna grow another arm!

Ocean or river.(or pool)
I don't mind lake water, but I hate walking into one because the ground is all mucky lol

yes, I LOVE the ocean and lakes, the river can be a little scary even for a good swimmer, even more dangerous than the ocean

Pool. You never know what's been dumped or discharged into a body of water. Especially if you live in Southern Arizona and the rivers run out of Mexico into AZ (Nogales to Tucson). Lived there, I know.
