how do we get back custody of a child from the grandparents?

You dont say whether the grandparents custody is via a court order or not or if its a temporary custody order. Either way now you must prove to the courts that 1. whatever the problem was to cause losing custody no longer exists or will, and 2.that you can and will be better parents for the children than the grandparents,providing family stability and financialmeans to support a family.
