Im sure your thinking of a turtle right. Since you are in the reptile section yes they would need auvb all reptiles need one. The reason is simple they are cold blooded and need the sun or a uvb bulb in captivity. It warms them up. Once you get the light it should start eating or take it to the vet right away.

Does what need a UVB light? There are many reptiles/amphibians that are the size of a quarter, some need UVB (most) and others do not. Add details and we can help you.

If it's a turtle absolutely. They need it for their metabolism and so they can absorb their nutrients. Don't worry, baby turtles don't eat yet when they are born. Give it some time. Good Luck!

Assuming this is a turtle, there are a LOT of reasons it might not be eating. The easiest is that the habitat is wrong for it- too small, too dirty, too cold, wrong food, etc.
