Here is a link to the real value of your car.

http://www.nadaguides.com/usedcars.aspx?LI=1-21-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=21&p=1&f=5014&y=1995&m=1143&d=918&c=15&mi=114000&vi=13112&z=49709&da=-1&nx=1

With the damage you are talking about the car is pretty much a 50% off special.

I buy these all the time repair and sell them.
I just bought a 2001 Grand Am SE with 97000 miles for 700.00 - 1 owner, bad head gasket and front brakes and rotors - also I replaced the windshield.

Like you said the car overheated because of a radiator problem and now the car is not going to be fixed.
There is no sale price... Run the add FREE CAR and let the first person that shows up gits the car..
You can get tools and repair the engine and continue driving. The mechanics repair bill is labor not parts. Either way the car is junk.

Bad head gasket is one thing but overheated motor is another. It could need a new head. The motor might be junk. If I had access to another motor I would pay you $500 tops but that's just me. The repair could be too costly unless you did it yourself and it may never be right again so the best thing would be to replace the whole motor with a known good one.

You could try parting it out on eBay. You have window glass, brake calipers, interior, radio, electrical parts, tons of good stuff and it would fit many years of Grand Am's. You could make enough money to almost buy a new car.

$400-800. cause it needs the head pulled and checked for cracks then the gasket kit and labor. You're probably looking at $800-1400. in repairs for just this problem. And the anti-lock brake problems probably a wheel speed senser. And it is about $100.And with the miliage on the car, and the over heating the engine will probably be shot soon.

i had this same problem with my 96 grand am with the 3.1 litre engine, the reason the head gasket blew is because GM uses texcool antifreeze, this coolant eats up the head gasket material, their's a class action law suit agaist GM because of this, cost to replace head gaskets ran beteen $1000-1500, my car had 130000 miles and look and ran like new, sold it for $3200

you did not specify what engine you have if the quad 4 or it's single cam sister they are worthless if it is a v-6 the car is worth more fixed than broken the low miles for the year will help the value, performance items on a non runner are to be considered non existant
your best bet is to fix not sell.

I agree with whoever said $1100 or O.B.O, and use the upgrades as a selling point, or you can always part it out. you might get close to the 2K mark doing that, but it could take a couple of months.

That car might as well have a blown motor. You won't get more than a few hundred dollars for it.
