We like the name Avery, for our daughter due any day now, but cannot decide on how to spell it. I like the traditional way, Avery, but it's been suggested that we spell it a more feminine way like Averie or Averi. What do you think or suggest??
We haven't agreed on a middle name yet but I am leaning towards Hope.

*Just a note...
Avery is on the SSA Top 100 Girls Name List for 2006. So it's not "unheard of" to name a GIRL Avery.

i love the name Avery for a girl, and Avery Hope is so pretty!
i think Avery is the best spelling, it already is a girly name and any other spelling would sort of be confusing. good luck!

Changing the spelling does not make a name any more feminine. Avery is traditionally a male's name therefore it will always be somewhat of a masculine name for a girl, no matter how you spell it. Spare your daughter some trouble and spell it the traditional way, Avery. The other spellings just look dumb to me and like people are trying to hard to be different. Plus if you use an alternate spelling your daughter will have to go her whole life telling people how to spell her name. Avery Hope sounds fine.

Avery is an easy and simple way to spell the name. Averie is really not a practical way to spell it seeing as not many people put an 'ie' at the end. Averi would also be acceptable, but I think more people would spell it wrong since the most logical way to write it would be Avery, although it is more feminine. If I were you, stick with the most traditional way to write it. It sounds the same anyways.

I like the traditional spelling of Avery. It's easy to spell, easy to pronounce. There's a little girl in our neighborhood named Avery Nicole.
Be careful alternating the spelling too much or you might alternate the pronunciation as well. There's a salon in our city called Avari...pronounced Uh-var-ee (the var rhymes with car).

Averie Hope is very cute. Also try: Avory, Averi, Averee, or just Avery. But Averie is cutest. And I think Averie and Hope goes good together. Also, if you like "Hope", try Averie Faith. Good luck!
