My sister of only 20 got married young to her future ex-husband also 20. They have only been married for 2 years and have a 18 month old child. She told him she want a divorce because she figured out he had been buying porn on the internet. Lets just say enough to put them in the cash hole. This had been going on this whole time and she finally said enough. Other than his porn addiction he is a great guy, saying that with a grain of rice. Now all it is her fighting for primary custody but he says he wants her every other weekend because he doesn't want her ruining his weekends. But in court there is no way to proving he said it. still he wont give her primary custody? Is there any way to get past this? What will the court most likely do? Or is it better just to try and solve this agreeingly? She wants to be able to take a job offer is another state but cant do it with all this mess? Help me understand what the best approach is?

Divorces with children are never easy. If she files for divorce using the reason you listed above, chances are the Judge will refer this to marriage counseling for awhile. If not mom, unless ruled unfit by child and/or drug/mental abuse, will be awarded custody of the child with dad getting state mandated visitation rights. Mom will get child and possible spousal support. Most divorces are better off worked out outside the courts but dont always happen. Now once mom is awarded custody and divorce is final, in order for her to move across state lines she will need either dads or the courts written permission to do so to avoid legal kidnapping charges. To get the courts permission, she will need to prove the move has the childs best interest in mind, a place to live and means of providing for the child, and also a revision to accomadate dads visitation rights. None of this is impossible but may take alittle more homework to pull it off. Good luck

Are you serious? Her husband bought some internet porn and now she wants a divorce? What a sad excuse to tear apart a child's life.

Regardless, if thats what she wants, thats what she wants. But I don't feel the mother should be given the right to pull the daughter away from her father. Even you admit the father is a great guy otherwise. If I were the judge, I'd order shared custody to make sure of the least impact on the daughter.

Your Sister needs to stop thinking of someone else besides herself. OK spending family funds for porn is not a good idea but that child should not have to suffer without a Dad just because she's selfesh. What will the court do? Give your sister custody and then the child does without for the rest of it's LIFE!!

There is nothing you can do. This is not your life, or your problems. Stop making this your problem and live your own life for a change. I am sure yo have problems of your own that you can work on.

I am not saying you cannot love and support your sister, her husband or their child. What I am saying is you have no control over anything that happens.

That is honestly your best approach to this situation.

Since he is SO ADDICTED to porn, maybe she should ask he have supervised visits. WHat if he gets caught up in his porn he fails to properly supervise and care for thier child.
