LCD problems? Best guess, your monitor settings (in Windows) are incorrect. LCD monitors aren't the same as CRT monitors. Use ONLY the "Native Resolution AND Screen Refresh Rate" as specified on the manufacturer's web site for your LCD monitor.

Find them, then, right-click on the Desktop and choose Properties to open the Display Properties Window. In Display Properties > Settings TAB, set the correct "Native" resolution, then click on the Advanced Button, then the Monitor Tab to set the correct Screen Refresh Rate.

Re-post if you want bigger Icons and Text on the Desktop.

Also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Added info to ELfaGeek's answer:

If the monitor still doesn't work after following his instructions then go to the monitor's manufacturer's website to the tech/support links and do a search on that error message. That should give you some added info as to how to fix the problem.

it is not your monitor. it sounds like you have not got the right graphics driver, for the graphics card, all monitors support 1024x768 resolution and have done for years...
go to your graphics card manufacturers website and download the latest drivers
