We have lots of toys made in china, but they are solid colored plastic and DO NOT have SURFACE or DECORATIVE paint....(ie. chicco, parents magazine toys, leap frog)

I also have lots of peak a blocks, roll around blocks, etc...Again, these are made by fisher price but are solid plastic and are not painted.

Please respond if you know about this....

While the primary risk is from toys that have surface paints contaminated with lead, you should also be wary of PVC products. I read today in the newspaper about vinyl bibs from Toys "R" Us apparently containing too much lead.

No. The concern is lead paint that could flake off and be ingested.
