I want to be a shark, with a laser mounted on my head, just like in "Gold Member."
Immortality is O.K., but there are other ways of obtaining it without switching your race or species, but lasers on the other hand, they're cool.

The Lord of the Rings elves aren't strictly immortal, they just seem to be insusceptible to disease and progressive tissue failure but can still be killed by accidents or in combat.
One attractive choice would be a darlok from Master of Orion II. The real question is whether or not their shape-shifting ability can give them effective immortality (through self-rejuvenation). A thrint from Larry Niven's Known Space universe would also be an interesting idea, as would a zerg cerebrate or a protoss/zerg hybrid (although we don't know much about the latter yet).
