I have 2 plumeria "sticks" cut from a large tree in Florida this past January. I put them in soil as soon as I got home and have kept them on the kitchen counter since. In April/May they both put out beautiful full-size leaves and one even put out a flower. Since then, the big leaves have fallen off and they have been attempting to put out more leaves but they never get past an inch or so in size, then they wither and fall off.

Suggestions please...I'd really like to keep these going.

They are in a very good size pot for starting...plenty of soil with drainage to keep them from getting too much water.

First of all I would check to see if the "stick" has actually rooted. Sometimes they will put out both leaves and even a flower or 2 without being rooted. Carefully unpot the cutting and check for roots. Also check for rot. This will appear as squishy or hollow feeling. Soft is ok as long as its soild feeling. If you find no roots, replace the cutting into its pot, 1 gallon size, water it once and place on a heat mat or outside on a hot surface such as the concrete. The Plumeria needs a lot of sun and heat to form roots. If you find the cutting has rotted, cut the bottom off until you reach white with no sign of the rot and dry a few days. Repot the cutting and treat as above. You can mist the top of the cutting but do not water again until your sure its rooted. You can also visit this forum for any other questions on Plumeria.

Make sure it has enough dirt and space to grow
