Normally kick returners are on the roster as a CB,WR, or RB, in most cases. But some of them cant really play those positions, they are there for the sole purpose of returning kicks. Like B.J. Sams of the Baltimore Ravens and even Devin Hester last year when he was listed as a CB.

I am asking because that would really help on Madden. I can have the best players at all the positions without worrying about someone fumbling on kickoff returns or muffing the punt every time because there would be a kick returner roster spot and I can have the best at that without having to sign a lousy running back or CB just to have a good kick returner. Its only a thought.

I think it is starting to evolve into a position. I remember when a return man could PLAY their position as well. Although I get to remember guys like "Hot" Rod Woodson with the Steelers. Even if you have the player for that spot(nothing wrong with the return specialist really) you would still have that roster spot used whether that was his title for position or not. How much until Madden does like 2KSports has done and have the "Skills" rather then a 1-100 ranking system? Then you would have guys who are listed as Return Specialists and make it easier to pick who will return kicks. Use someone who almost like a second string BUT great at returns.

I love the fact your a girl and love Madden, its great! You cannot label any player just a kick or punt returner, the returner has to have a primary position. And of course CBs and WRs are the main ones with the exception of a RB now and then, but you do not want to injure a star player returning so be careful. You dont really need a returner with high rankings in all areas, a good returner should have a high rating in speed and breaking tackles.

Though most teams use a WR or CB to play the position. You can go to the Pro Bowl as a KR Specialist.

Well, you don't want to put your star WR or RB or CB in at KR because there is always the chance that he would get injured on a kick return...I make sure a backup is the KR...

Joe Theismann, just kidding but do any Redskins fans remember Theismann running back punts when he was 3rd string QB behind Sonny & Billy, but Brian Mitchell holds the record & he played 13 years but Devon Hester of the Bears may do it this year or early next season. He already has 10 I believe.

just put who you think is the best kick returner as kick returner. dont worry about them getting tired for their normal role cuz its only a kickoff.
