http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20070818/tuk-britain-offbeat-telecom-company-bt-a7ad41d_1.html This is TRULY disgraceful,.. and all they did was APOLOGISE to her,.. if you ask me they should have given her free calls for at lest 6mths; it amazes me that this company has the blatant nerve to not only keep her waiting for that time, but to also JUST aplogise. it sickens me!
I left BT about 4-5years ago and have been REALLY happy that I did. They're the greediest, most scheming, lying, cheating, manipulative, scummy, low-life company besides the banks, (banks are MUCH worse!).
What do YOU think, should BT give this woman at LEAST 6mths free calls or a £#'s worth of free calls,.. and STILL apologise?

the biggest prat of all was the person that stayed on the phone for 20 hours. I for one dont believe the story nobody could be that stupid to stay on hold for 20 hour. I BELIEVE the caller left the phone off the hook and forgot about it and is trying to retreive the cost from BT that is more than likely the true facts

This is a common Problem with BT, i was trying to call BT for hours & dispite calling as soon as they Opened i always got the Same message "sorry we are very busy your call will be Answered as soon as an operator is available"
HOW can they be that busy? eventually i sent 2 email complaints to them & the Second one was to inform them i would be contacting OFTEL & reporting them for Breach of Contract the next day i got a e-mail reply apologizing.
I was on hold for 2 hrs when finally i got a human (loosely) being, he said that BT were changing their system & are training new operators & that is why the Delay. so then i had to be transfered to another department to help me & what a suprise more holding for another 1 hr 15 mins.

Very Poor service for a company that controls the Telecommunications for this country.

If you actually READ the report its not 20 hrs straight its a total period over a couple of days.

Tell her to try calling British Gas if she wants to know what being kept on hold is all about. Twenty hours? Rubbish! Only a halfwit would stay on hold for so long. Also it would involve at least two shift changes at the call centre.

Methinks you are telling porkies!

BT should give her a years free calls, be Heavily fined AND have whichever prat was responsible for this 'new system' be sacked and be publicly identified so that he or she will NEVER work in the industry again!!

You are right about all but one thing: unfortunately all large companies are like this.

You can keep moving around and you'll only discover that you change one evil with another.

Use new technologies, smaller companies and those who really work to earn your business.

Classic telephony is dead, use Skype and free instant messages!

I am wondering about the person who actually waited for 20 hours instead of calling back.
