I once saw a name that was just odd... Anakin Skylar III. Is this the oddest name you've ever heard?

I also know someone who knew a woman who named her baby Chlamydia...she heard it in the hospital and liked it too much...

Chlamydia is probably one of the worse I've ever heard... Not the Anakin Skylar III.

One I don't remember the name was a little girl who's first name was 13 letters long and was absolutely horrible to pronounce with a "q" a "z" and an "x" in her name. Another that wasn't too horrible was Candy Shoppe. And a third I remember was an asian boy Phuc Yu.

A couple in China want to name their child @ -which in Chinese sounds like "love him" -- awww! - see the first link

Another couple in New Zealand wanted to call their son 4Real. They decided on the name after seeing the baby for the first time in an ultrasound scan and realizing their baby was “for real.” However, when they went to register his birth, the Registrar rejected the name saying that numbers weren't allowed.

Undaunted, they've come up with another name - Superman. They want to register him officially with that name to get round the number problem, but are determined to call him 4Real.

When I worked in insurance, came across an application with the name Annette Curtain - no kidding!

Also heard about a child named Gayle Warnyng - I don't think it's true -- never heard of surname Warnyng - funny tho'...

I've heard lots of bad ones. By far the worst is Kittybell. I saw a girl in our ER with that name.

A friend of my family's used to work at a prison hospital, and there was a prisoner who wanted to name her daughter "Vagina" because she heard a nurse say it and thought it was pretty (she didn't know what it was). My friend explained to the woman what it was, so there' s a little girl out there somewhere that owes my friend her life!!!!

I had an elementary school teacher named Dreama Little.

A doc at my hospital named his son Beltran.

The race horse Giacomo was named after Sting's son. Great name for a horse, lousy name for a kid. The race horse Tiago was named after someone else's son (maybe Sergio Mendes, I'm not sure). Again, nice on a horse, not so great on a kid.

Whilst working in Benefits Advice in the UK, I came across a young girl who had named her daughter after her favourite drink - not only was it a "classy" drink but she had been drunk on it when she got pregnant. The child was called (the spelling was her own) T'ia M'ria - which means Aunt Maria in Spanish. She told me if she had another she might call it Malibu - coz she liked the drink with lemonade!!

I also came across a number of people with the surname Christmas - one of whom had the first name Armageddon. Which takes bar humbug to a whole new level.

Lastly, I have a personal dislike of naming children Reagan - as in King Lear's unpleasant daughter. Although most of the children seem to be boys which is even more odd.

The worst I even have ever heard are names like Amerka (no shaggy dog tale, it fairly is in revealed infant call books), cohesion, united states, and different names like that. in spite of the undeniable fact that, there replaced right into a court docket case awhile decrease back the place a woman replaced into taken from her mother and father for baby cruelty with the aid of fact her call replaced into Tallula Does The Hula From Hawai'i. I baby you not, that replaced into her call.

Woody.
I recall native North Americans would name a child after the first thing they saw. Hope to god this wasn't the case with Woody.

Then of course there was Mr & Mrs Peacock that appeared in the papers a couple of years back who decided to call their baby son Drew. Doesn't sound bad initially, which is why they got him christened as this. Just sounds bad if you say it fast a few times.

As a social worker, I come across some very unfortunate children, who have come from families where they haven't exactly been loved. But, and this is no word of a lie, I helped this one girl last year to get adopted, and her mother had named her Shee-Ted, pronounced Sh*thead! needless to say the poor girl had a hard time, and I helped her and her future adoptive parents go through the legal process of changing her name. She is now, happily, called Aisleyne (pronounced Ashleen), which is quite a pretty name I think.

Don't know if it's really the worst, but odd yes - Primrose Wood - she was a contestant on a tv show, and a girl who worked in our bank was Isabella and every time my dad saw her he would say Isabella better than a door knocker - it drove her crazy.
