Not really, although few people do it around here. Most people in my neighborhood have their shoes glued to their feet even at home. But where home & back yard are concerned, while it is uncommon, it's not so uncommon *no one* here does it... there are a few folks who do.
But I'm the only one who goes barefoot everywhere outdoors :) Which btw isn't dangerous, unhealthy or gross; feet get very tough very quickly, our skin is made to keep pathogens out, and feet are fully washable.

I wear steel capped boots 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. I go barefoot inside my house, in the back yard, down to the local shops and anywhere I can get away without wearing shoes. Hell, I even go naked when I can.

No. The first thing that comes off my feet when I walk through the door of my house is my shoes. I walk barefoot in my house and in my yard. But because I like to be barefoot so much, I need to keep up with the pedicures, if ya know what I mean. Or every one would be calling me Fred Flintstone.

No not at all...in fact, wiccans believe that you gain energy from the earth but you must connect to it physically and wearing no shoes and socks as often as you can can reduce your stress and increase the peace in your life.

I knew of a girl several years ago that hated to wear shoes. Even in winter. Even in snow. Still went barefoot to drunken parties with who knows what on the floors. That seemed a little extreme to me.

Nope not at all.
Mainly because I wear boots all day at work I tend to wear nothing on my feet while at home. Gives them chance to breathe. I don't bother with them if I am going into the garden either
