Usually, librarians are seen as (but not necessarily) book nerds, who bug you to return your books. They also nicely ask you to pay your fines. Nobody likes fines, so nobody likes librarians. People tend to disrespect people they don't like to the fullest possible extent.

I've never seen anyone disrespectful to any librarians that we have in either of our local libraries and I go to both of them all the time. You must live in a town with an attitude and maybe the people in your town are just disrespectful to everyone.

Anyone who sits behind a desk and has customers will have a bad egg in the dozen. It's like working at Wal-Mart or any other business. There are some customers that are hard to please and as an employee you can only do your best. If your best isn't enough, then that customer is a jerk but you truely can't please everyone.

Don't let any of them get close to you in your private life; they are losers.
