In the 70's I worked for a security company and an exibition was held at Earls Court Exhibition Hall in London with a million pounds in notes, gold bars and jewellery and 5 colleges an I pulled it into the hall and guarded it all day.
There was a photo shoot with £50 pound notes being thrown in the air to shower down onto a couple of scantily clad models. We had to ensure all the notes were picked up afterwards.
So although it does not answer your question fully this is the largest amount of dosh that I have been really close to.
