Because it is 16 months, and it would take that long to bring it to the floor. Investigations take time and since this would be a real impeachment, for crimes against the government as opposed to Clinton's crimes against his wife, it would be far more serious and need a different level of proof, than a blue dress. And we would have to get this proof from a President whose reputation for secrecy is phenomenal. Executive privilege has been used to shield them and it would take months in court just to pry those papers out of them. All we can do is pray that there will be no other disasters like Katrina, or wars like Iraq, and certainly no other terrorist attacks for this country to get through with a leadership as poor as Bush's.

well, let's bone up on the civics classes there skippy.
The love or lack of love for an administrations policies are not justification for impeachment.
Don't you think (maybe you don't) that if the Democratically controlled congress had anything they could hang on the President, they would have done so immediately?
And BTW, the call for impeachment by the lefty loons has been going on for a while now, where have you been?

All that has to be done is President Bush needs to commit ONE impeachable offense. So far none has been committed. So believe me that the blood thirsty hate everything Bush Congress would have already done so if there was something. Plain and simple.

Their opponents do not believe they could garner enough votes in the House to impeach or the Senate to convict them. Given the precedents the two have established, however, it would be no stretch for the next Democratic administration to declare them enemy combatants and either place them in CIA custody or perform an extraordinary rendition to - I don't know - perhaps Syria or some other forward-thinking state for extended questioning. (I'm not saying that it's right to bind and gag them and send them to a torture chamber, but merely that their executive policies have enabled such conduct.)

Believe it or not many people support(ed) bush, and many still believe in his administrations goals. In his second election he was elected by a majority vote(barely). He does not have appeared to violate any letter of law-such as lying on a sworn deposition under oath(a la clinton), and violating the spirt of law is basically what presidents do(its practically in the job description). If impeachment proceedings were started now it would take a forever to complete them, (Well not really but it would sure seem like it.), may not succeed(why go through the trouble if no one gets justice? makes everbody feel like a punk.), and polarize the americans further(red versus blue. again.) Of course any impeachment would have to be initiated by/be approved by the justice department under attorney general Gonzales. That may not happen, and could explain why Bush has not cast him off like his other friends who got into trouble(like ken lay). Lastly bush will almost certainly recive a blanket pardon from whatever corkscrew replaces him.
god help us.

Most people don't believe the internet hype about Bush. They know he has not done anything illegal because everything he has done he got authorized through congress. In addition who exactly does it help to take Bush's focus off fighting the war. Al Quada? Why do you want to help the enemy?
