how is mathematics interesting?

As you will quickly learn in life, mathematics determines everything.

Mathematics is in beauty. How appealing a person's face is is determined by the spacing and distance of the features (eyes, nose, ears, mouth, jawline, etc.)

Mathematics is in every shape you see, every physical force that acts with or against you.

Mathematics is the reason you can download a 2 hour movie in 10 minutes online.

Math is the reason every bridge or tunnel you drive over/thru doesn't collapse.

Just a short list... I know its kinda dull with lots of memorization, but maybe if you think about how these basic formulae apply to real life it will be more interesting.

It's the only subject that requires thinking and logic. All other subjects require memorizing boring facts. I find literature, history, politics, and biology very boring since there is so little application of what you learned. Also mathematics is very black and white which is why I love it. People cannot have their own opinions of what a right answer is. It is simply either right or wrong and there is no debate.

Only because what it can do for you. Examine each individual math subject (arithmetic, algebra, calculus, differential equations) and your world opens up wider and wider. What you cannot do with one branch of mathematics, you can find using the others. For example: In algebra, you learn that you cannot take the slope of a curved line because it violates rise/run. However, calculus uses definition of the derivative and one point on the graph to find its slope. Finally, YOU have to make it interesting. Understand why math is important in our world.

Just invented to help understand what was going on around us. Then extended to help keep track of when things happened and when they may happen again.
Math worked well on those problems so it was tried on most other problems. What do i need to keep the roof from falling down. How far is that person from me can he hit me with his spear.
Math is used to make everything you use and even everything you eat. the water you drink from a pipe, the air you breath from the air conditioner,
your clothes, your computer, your phone.

No Math?
Go sit out in the rain at night with no clothes on and no food for three days with a high fever with you sick child in one arm and you old parents leaning on you for warmth. No fire.

We have come a long way. Going back is very unpleasant. Math or bust.

why isn't it fun to solve math problems?
I simply love the subject though i do not do it for my Advanced Level
the part i love the most in math is solving problems.Every good problem is a challenge as good as climbing the mount Everest
Math 8is very interesting bcoz it is not just one persons brain,but all the brains of ppl who helped to improve math is used when even solving a simple problem like 1 + 1 = 2

It is a pure science. The rules are the rules. It is concrete, not abstract like a lot of other subjects. Math is a universal language. 3 is 3. No matter what you call it, three, tres, ten, shi, troi, it all means three of some item.
