As socialist agenda is not stealing from one to give to the other. It is about making all equal. I think Jesus said something along the lines of give up your possessions and follow me.
Neo cons think along the lines of we'll follow you but we want as many possessions as we want. We want greed and competition, we want to steal oil from other countries.

To all responants. Ask yourselves some questions. Would Jesus have gone to war? Would Jesus have taken a course of action that led to the deaths of over 100,000 innocent people? Would Jesus have policies that led to suffering and death and poverty?

You neo coms(new commies) are funny....you despise the Gospels yet take them out of context and try to use them against believers. Conservative Christians are among the MOST giving to the poor through donations to food banks, churches who in turn sponsor charity, homeless shelters and so on....what we object to is the government confiscating our money and use on programs that THEY feel as worthy..and we all know how efficient government programs are don't we....look at the fraud in welfare and food stamps just to name a couple...I give to charities that I CHECK OUT!!!...I know where my donated dollar is going...GOVERNMENT LOOSES MILLIONS A YEAR!!!...probably billions!!!!more bang for your buck when you take the time, care enough to do some investigation, and donate to what YOU care about....
I guess you think that Jesus would be OK with us doing nothing that would embolden the enemy to attack again...that my friend would be allowing murder...the enemy hates us...has for centuries and have finally gotten an attack on us butchering 3000 Americans....do you REALLY think that Jesus would be ok doing nothing, knowing darn well that they would attack again???.....try reading the Gospels again, but this time without the bitter heart...read the entire book of Matthew or John..don't just take sentences out of context with the entire chapter or entire bible....read with a heart that WANTS to learn the Gospels, and not with a heart that wants to distort to fit YOUR agenda......

Jesus Christ did not have a socialist agenda. Jesus when feeding the multitude did NOT tell the people to go to Caesar. No, Jesus fed them. Caesar was busy taxing the life out of people.
Jesus Christ fed the people himself. It is our responsibility as Christian to follow his example and feed and clothe people and not send them to the government. It is not the governments responsibility it is ours.
I know it is so easy to pass the buck but stop and take action now for what WE are called to do.

Some more Jesus quotes that libs can live up to.
Blessed are the peace makers: Protecting the innocent and defenseless. = Victims of terrorism, dictatorships and abortions.
Blessed are the gentle: Teaching a person to support themselves and their families is a much more gentle and easier softer way for people to live rather than giving them everything.
Was it not Jesus that said, "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for life"?
Why are you libs so against someone earning their own keep if they are perfectly capable of doing so?
Blessed are the merciful: Protecting innocent life by stopping unneeded abortions. Vindicating stolen lives from murder or rape and incest, and ending the miserable lives of murderers and rapists, not trying to rehabilitate them, IS being merciful.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: Humility and admission of personal sin. Not many libs can do that.
You also forgot to mention many of Gods word. You know, the father of Jesus?
He often talked of justice, vengeance and retribution.
I love how Libs take only what may support THEIR agenda, and leave out the "meat" of entire quotes. Especially from the bible.
David R:
Distort? Maybe by your opinion. I never will say that I know the bible word for word. But I have studied it for years and I've also seen how many libs like to take what works for them, and leave out the rest. God is not a cafeteria. He is all or nothing, not just what works for you at the moment.
By your logic, giving to the government is giving to charity, rather than me giving directly to legitimate charities myself.

The problem is that cons do live up to these principles as a whole. Jesus also preached love and non-judgementalism, this is typical lib-taking-whatever-talking point they want and running with it. Jesus was not a socialist, he was for hard work and earning your own way, but giving to others as well. My giving to charity is not the same as socialim. Jesus did not want Caesar to dole out everything.

The title "tax collector" was most often paired with "sinner" in the Gospels.

Your grammar is less than perfect. Not all conservatives are "neocons." The term was applied to Jews who were Democrats, got some wisdom, then became conservative. Now, as in your case, it is wrongly used on a regular basis. Jesus did not have a socialist agenda. He did not steal money from Peter to give to Paul.

Matthew 19:21
Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Jesus said give to the poor...not to government...
Matthew 22:21
"Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
are you saying higher taxes for social programs is giving to God...where is the separation of church and state...

Jesus would frown on those who could help themselves and would prefer not to because some idiots decided they didn't have to. Stealing is stealing. If you tax me to death to subsidize those who don't work as hard as I do, It's SOCIALISM. Pure and simple.
Quit purchasing Ipods, big screen TV sets, and other unnecessary crap and spend that money on health insurance!
