My computer is vista and I have an HP F300 all in one printer/scanner/copier. The printer is working ok but the scanner is not working, I am unsure of whether the printer is compatable with Vista? I am pretty clueless about these thing, any advice would be great!! :)

I think you may be using Vistas own built in driver, this only enables the printer part.
Download the Correct F380 vista driver from here, it is quite a large download so please be patient if you don't have a fast connection:

Try going to HP's website to see if that model is compatible with VISTA. There will probably be an update for it in the form of a downlodable patch, if you got the printer/scanner before vista was introduced. You could try reinstalling the software that came with the printer to see if that helps.

That printer is certified for Vista, so you're okay there. You might try uninstalling the software, rebooting, then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work, I'd call HP's support - you may have a defective unit.

First off, Vista sux
If you've just purchased the printer, you can contact HP support and they'll tell you if its compatible. There may be a driver for vista on HP's website thats prolly not included in the CD you got with the printer.

open control panel, click on printers, right click your printer/scanner, there should be a bit in the properties which says go to makers web site, on the web site there is an option for hp to scan your computer to see if your product in installed/configured correctly. if there is a problem they should be able to sort it out.
or try ,controll panel, open problems and reports to see if there reports on the printer, this can sometimes resolve things.
or just go straight to the hp web site, and do there online scanner

Even with a windows 'vista disc' my all in one didn't work needed updates from both windows & HP, got round the problem by scanning into paint/adobe photoshop then working from there.

It should be, but run windows update and check for optional updates. Many drivers that didnt make it onto the Vista DVD have been placed on windows update instead =)

Your All-in-One is definitely compatible with Windows Vista.
You can download the latest drivers from the link below. (This is for the British English version.)
You'll need to uninstall the driver(s) that you already have installed and then reboot before installing this driver.
