my friend told me about this game and i was going to buy it but i dont know which ones better

I agree with the first poster. Both games are wonderful, but to fully understand GoW2, you must play the original. I personally like the sequel better (that's a first), but both games are great.

Well, to enjoy the experience best, I would recomend picking up God of War 1 first. First of all, you'll be able to get it pretty cheap ($20 new) and you won't be thrown into the story not knowing what's going on (like you would if you started with part 2).
I personally own both, and they are definately 2 of the best PS2 games, PERIOD. If you like God of War 1, then you can continue on in the series, and get God of War 2 ($40 new).
