I'm in need of about 20,000 soda can tabs / pop tops / pull tabs to create "Pop Top Leis" for 330 sailors aboard a NAVY ship that is returning from deployment. The leis are going to be presented to the sailors at Homecoming. My group and I are running short on time and we need tabs!! We are willing to pay for them! Please help!

Contact some of the groups that collect the tabs to raise money. As Kacky said the Shriners do, McDonalds at one time did for Ronald McDonald house. Some fire depts collect whole cans which would have the tabs. You could buy the tabs from them at the current aluminum scrap price or slightly higher (hey it's going to a good cause). If that doesn't work, contact recyclers in your area and see if the tabs come in from fund raising groups and you should be able to buy them from the recyclers.
If that doesn't work I'll quote Brother Bluto in Animal House and say that "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily." Hope this helps and good luck.

I'm guessing you've had more time than your project. But really just buy a hell of a lot of soda and invite people over to drink them with you and even give some to your neighbors and ask for the tops back.

pop top tabs are collected to raise money for Shriners hospitals in the US and Canada. Can you find another material that would honor your sailors without taking money away from little sick children and burn victims?

go to your local hardware like lowes and ask them if they could have their employees save them off their cans they would gladly do it ask for a manager
