Okay you say authorized, but this means to be allowed.
Did you mean obligated, as in owing it to society?
I think the death penalty mostly works, it weeds out the worst of the worst. I also think that dying really cuts down on the chance that the killer will re offend.

There is no way of anwsering yes or no to your question because i think if you take someone elses life you dont deserve to live but then you have to take in the circumstances around the death.....like a child who had been molested compared to someone who ran someone down in their car...i think no one should be "AUTHORISED" to kill someone but if their gonna do it again then yes leathel inject

I believe there are methods of punishment that would be more effective than being sentenced to death for some heinous crime. A prefrontal lobotomy would be very effective punishment. Taking them to death valley, with just the clothes they are wearing, one quart of water, no tools of any kind, and just the flip flops they wear in jails. Drive them to a desolate area, and see if they can find their way home. Take them by boat to a place in the Bering sea, put them in a dingy, oars, and one quart of water. No other clothes than the ones they wear in jail. Put them in the wilderness, like a swamp. No amenities. Just the clothes they wear in jail. Boy, i think it would be fun to pass sentence on a few of these pedo's, serial killers, mass murderers, violent rapists, scam artists who bilk the ignorant, and aged of their security accounts. OOOOO, what fun.

YES, and they should be honored to do so, as murder is the ultimate sign of disrespect. They should be blindfolded, tied to a pole, and shot by several volunteers - all the guns would have blanks except one, and NOBODY knows which gun has the real bullet. One person loads the guns, one mixes them up, another mixes them up, then the volunteers pick.

Sounds fair to me.
If you fail to respect another man's life.
then nobody has to respect yours.
Can't wait to read all the drivel about how
killing someone for fun is just as bad as
killing someone for being a vicious, violent murderous thug.

Yes, unless it was murder by negligence, if the murderer is under 21, if the victim murdered or raped someone dear to the murderer, and finally self defense.

Certainly not every case, but some cases I feel deserve the execution of the murder.

I think it depends on the circumstances. If someone really pisses you off and you kill them I think that should be no problem. But if you just shoot people at random then there is something wrong with you and you should die.
