I'm not looking for anything too big. A fairly small laptop would be nice, but will be willing to buy a big one if worse comes to worse.

i just bought 2GB RAM (1GB x 2) $87.. CORSAIR brand.. its works great!!!

You can look at dell computers, they are pretty good, if they only come with 1gb of ram then make sure you read how much the max capacity is, get one with 2gb max, you can buy the second chip separate if you need to, or you can add it when you configure your laptop from them.

No problem, your best bet would be to go to the Dell or HP sites and have the model configured.
I also want to add I went over to the Tiger site and was very disappointed.

You should browse the Tiger Direct website for high quality computers at a low price.
