For last two months, he has not paid me my rent ! What legal action i can take ?

No clue on VA law specifically, but your written lease agreement that your attorney drafted should provide that you have the right to now demand only cashiers checks payments. You should also be able to give a 3 day notice to pay rent or quit, and charge the late fee specified in your lease. If all this fails, call an eviction attorney.

Hi,
This is your best course of action. Go directly to the Police with the bad checks. Writing bad checks is a Criminal act. and punishable by law. It has worked great for me in the past and it will work for you too. I'd love to see the look on that persons face when the Police come knocking on his door! Have some fun with this one, and I'd start the eviction process right away.

NO longer accept personal checks. Ask for a post office or bank issued money order so that the funds will be guaranteed to you. Evict the tenant, there is always someone else looking for a place to stay.

Send your tenant a 3-day notice to Pay or Quit. If he does not pay or move out, file eviction proceedings at the local court.
