No, I've never been that depressed. I may have moments of sadness, when I miss my Nana whose been gone oh, 20 years...or I have regrets about choices I have made...or I hear of a tragic event....but not enough to make me non-functional.

I think that deep of a depression is nutritionally linked, barring a legitimate crisis in that person's life.

Depression is sooo self-indulgent. It's the excuse for not doing what simply needs to be done for oneself on a daily basis.

Depressed or not you need to get up, feed yourself a decent breakfast, take your multi-vitamin, go to work, function, have a laugh with your co-workers, have a nutritious lunch, finish the day, go home, cook a decent dinner meal, bathe and get a good nights rest.

This is the routine most people who have jobs utilize, be it first, second, or third shift....

If you are prone to depression then working nights is going to make it wose because it throw off your internal clock.

If you're depressed then quit feeding yourself negatives, as in reading the papers, watching the news, and watching all the violent dramas on TV.

Watch comedies. Raise the endorphin and serationin levels in your system.

Get into the sunshine. Oh, it just cures a host of ills..

Take a little walk. Smell the freshly cut grass and the awful exhaust from the car passing by.

You're alive. You're healthy and you have blessings beyond your comprehension.

In a world where some nations struggle just to maintain a safe water supply you live in a nation with state of the art medical skills, at peace within it's borders, and with access to an adequate food supply.

There are literally millions of people who would trade places with you in a heartbeat, and happily take on the demons that depress you, and never, ever look back....

It is a matter of perspective.

About 5 years ago, I was so depressed I had to go on anti-depressants. I had such a hard time adjusting to my meds that I had to go out on disability for the remainder of the summer.

Just last week, I was so depressed about something, I had to leave work. I didn't sleep for a few days because of this. I'm 32 now.

I've been so depressed that I didn't want to go to school, but of course I had to go anyways. But to answer your question no, I was really depressed one time after a horrible break-up but I looked forward to work because it helped take my mind off of things. But I can see how someone would be, especially if their work is depressing too.

I was so depressed that I didn't want to go to school. I was about 14 at the time. But thankfully I got myself through it, and I haven't been that depressed since.

Yes..last month. And 2 years ago.(I had to take a 3 mo leave of absence) But then I have PTSD from an attack in the work place. So sometimes I just get..overwhelmed. I have to get through it. Even though this is a different job in a different place.

Yes, when my mom died. I was 47 at the time. I was so depressed that I knew that I wouldn't be able to work, let alone think about working.

I have days that I am depressed because I have to go to work, I call in on those days. My wife and I call them zoo days. I used to call in sick and take my family to the zoo. Now we go to Sea World. Everyone should have "ZOO DAY", it helps the family, the employee, and the employer. I am always ready to work the day after a zoo day.
