Like the military, is it OK to loose lives in order to try to save lives that most likely are not alive?

Obviously they aren't trying to loose lives in order to save lives. It is one of those things that are very sad, and they are going to at least give it their best shot to try to save them alive if possible, and if not at least return their bodies to the families. These miners are like family and the men were willing down there trying to save co-workers. It's one of those unfortunate things that happened while trying to rescue them, but they did not know that it was going to happen, and they thought they were going to be safe even though they were not.

NO. Why haven't the rescuers taken up the offer from Australia to get help and advice from the rescuers of the Beaconsfield miners. Our 2 miners were underground for 2 weeks but they were rescued. The Utah miners are 500 metres down, Beaconsfield miners were 1 kilometre down. What has held up the drilling to get a camera and supplies to the Utah miners. I only hope they can be rescued. The feeling in Australia when our 2 miners surfaced was unbelievable.
