My mother. She knew she was dying, but I didn't. I was so far and traveling was both expensive and a problem with my job.
My employer took a call that said I needed to take the call. She had died and learned this during my shift. My supervisor told me to take off of work, but I said that there was nothing that I could do and worked my shift until it ended.
My mom was my friend and I did take off for her funeral. I kissed her on her lips for the last time and then I left. I miss her but my regret was that I did not go to her when she asked me to. I am lonesome for her, but I feel her presence many times when I make decisions.
