No matter what you do in Disney Land is like walking in a fantasy world. Let go of your adulthood and follow the kid in you.
Some of the things I liked best were the following
Cinderella Castle
Jungle Cruise
Liberty Square Riverboat
Swiss Family Treehouse
The Hall Of Presidents
The Haunted Mansion
Tom Sawyer Island
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
Walt Disney World Railroad
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
and of course the Light Parade and the nightime fireworks.
Also make sure you have dinner in one of the fancy restaurants there... so you make reservations ahead :-)
What you can do and see there depends on how long you plan to stay and also what your interests are.
One thing for sure, you will enjoy it very much....
Actually I have been to Disney World but I think you can find the same attractions in all of the Disney parks.
Check the sites below for details but mainly...don't forget to .....
be a kid again!! :-)

Right off the top of my head(and I haven't been in a while) the Aerosmith Rock and Roll coaster is the best I've ever been on because it uses complete darkness with a few light flashes and very loud very good music in speakers right on your ears and speed that glues you to the back of your seat. I love Epcot, in this giant globe as you enter that park there's neat scientific things you can try. Many years ago I had my first experience with virtual reality in there. Every time I've been I've been very impressed with the way that it truly does seem like a magical place. They certainly have spared no expense to make it that way right down to the perfect employees from around the world. Ah, I absolutely must apologize, I thought you were going to Disney world. Hope you like Disneyland.

You must have a great spot in front of the disneyland castle for the fireworks show. It not your standard fireworkd anymore. It has bee themed to soundtracks of the rides with light shows and fireworks going off the top of all the buildings which completely surrounds you. Its incrediable.

Alas, I haven't been to Disneyland for so long a time. I remember the fireworks and laser displays were fantastic.
The whole of it, is a beautiful fantasy land to be enjoyed.

The Peter Pan ride for the real feel of flying.
If it's in the winter the artificial snow at the main parade.
And after awhile just eating in one of their restraunts and being served by very happy people.

If you are going for more then one day, we usually go for 3 days. The first day, we go on everything once, the second day we get everything we missed if there were to big of lines etc... the third day we go on the fun ones over and over again ie. space mtn, splash mtn, star wars. Always feel like i used my time good when we do it that way.
