Norway is very expensive!!!!
I went to Oslo last summer for three days and had a blast. I bought the Oslo pass, which you can use to get into lots of the sites for free and free transportation. My favorite places were the Nobel Peace Museum and the Viking Ship museum (take the boat across the fjord) I sat and watched the change of guard ceremony at the palace which is really cool...
I stayed at the Anker Hostel and had a good experience there.
Hope this helps!

Check with your chosen destinations if they are still open, as the season is short and September is rather late for some of the smaller hostels and sights.
But I would definitely go.
(I was there in June once, and found many things just opening up.)
Oslo is great, many things to see if you like quiet towns. Nature in Norway can be rather overwhelming, the fjords are great but most of the country is beautiful.
But the thing that can not be beaten in my memory are the breakfasts.
The best breakfasts in the world. And hostels often serve one that is as good as that in many a hotel, the best I ever had was in a hostel in Ã
ndalsnes, but as it has been too many years ago, I do not know if they are still in business.

No tips but a request. If you end up in Oslo and run into a chick named Charlotte Walther will you tell her I still love and long for her? Thanks and enjoy your holiday.
