I have a phrase to put a t-shirt that I would like to sell, but I don't want anyone else to use the same phrase to put on t-shirts or anything else. So I want to protect it somehow like copy right the phrase in Manitoba Canada. So my question is how do I protect it?

You cannot copyright it in one province only. That is because copyright law comes under the jurisdiction of federal government.

Look through the Yellow Pages in theWinnipeg phonebook and find a lawyer works in the area of copyright law, then make an appointment and go see him. Yeah, it will cost some money, but one of the first rules of business is that you have to spend money in order to make money.
