I live in Spain and yesterday on Spanish TV was a update on the Maddy case, aparently one of the guest an investigative reporter, informed that Kate is due to return to UK with the twins because Portugese Officials are going to charge her and gerry with neglect and abandoment, Gerry at the moment has decided to stay in Portugal, the reporter also added that even though G denies it, he has proof that with the money of the findmaddie fund, the have paid off their mortgage in England and obviously their stay in Portugal. (What their mortgage has to do with finding Maddie, well maybe G can tell us). This reporter has tried 4 times to interview both G and K and they will not allow him to do so, he said it is because of the 5 questions he would like answered, he only mentioned 2 on TV one of them being about the fund money and the other about the so called check up's on May 3rd.

Yes before I get people saying "and the question is?" just thought people would like to know.

Cheek of it all, firstly if you are not interested then don't read the question, and secondly I would not put my child in a situation like they did to go out and wine and dine.

It all fits on so nicely to the way this couple have been behaving from the start. Only a few days ago Kate was saying she could not consider moving back to the UK without Maddy. Then, days later, when the dogs sniffed blood in the apartment guess what, they suddenly start dropping into the conversation that they are considering moving back to the UK! Nothing surprises me with this couple, I believe they are devious and manipulative. I am not suggesting that they actually murdered their daughter but clearly, they left the child vulnerable to being taken - something which they should be charged for without doubt. However, they have certainly taken advantage of the situation haven't they!

It was reported that there had been a string of burgalaries at the resort. This was highlighted by Mrs Fenn and her niece, It was also pointed out that the McCanns had been advised to use a baby sitter some nights before Madeleine went missing, by the resorts management - they chose not to do so. It has long been rumored that the reason that none of the 'Tapas 9' used baby sitters was that they were 'swingers' and could hardly go back to the appartments to have sex with different partners if a baby sitter was there ! I know not if this is true, but certainly none of them have ever come up with a public statement as to why they did not use baby sitters.

I haven't heard anything about how the fund money is being spent so I can't really comment on it.

What I have read in todays's Express, (I know, lol) is that the lady who lives in the apartment above the McCanns will be formally interviewed by the Police on Monday. One of the tings she has said is that, a few nights before Madeleine disappeared, she heard one or more of the children crying for their daddy. The crying lasted from half past ten until a quarter to midnight when the McCanns returned. I would have thought that this evidence should strengthen the case against the McCanns for negligence.

They should both be forced to stay in Portugal until this whole mess is sorted out. They certainly know more about Maddy's disappearance than they are letting on,and if they have paid off their mortgage then it really stinks of fish and points to the fact they they were in financial trouble right from the start and planned all this to get out of it. Oh another great condescending answer by Karol.

Here's a translation of a report from today's Correio da Manha:

The PJ will begin next week to re-interview some witnesses in the Maddie case in order to “clarify” situations. One of the witnesses is Briton Pamela Fenn, 70, who stayed alone in the apartment above the one from where Madeleine McCann disappeared in the Ocean Club at Praia da Luz. About 22.00 on the 3rd of May, she claimed to have heard a racket caused by about 20 people, and offered to Kate McCann to call the police. But Kate McCann refused the help, saying, “No thanks, we have already telephoned; we have everything organised”. This was after Kate said, “We lost her”. However, the child’s disappearance was not notified to the Republican National Guard until 22.40. On the other hand, according to information collected for the DN, Pamea Fenn recounted that between 22.30 and 23.45 on 1 May, that she heard a child in that apartment crying, distressed, “Daddy, Daddy!”. At this time, it appears the McCann couple were having supper in a restaurant near the Lady of the Light Church. When contacted by DN, Mrs Fenn said “I don’t speak with journalists”.

Three weeks before Madeleine’s disappearance, Mrs Fenn fended off a burglary attempt by a man who was later identified as having similar characteristics of the man in the photo-fit suspected of involvement in Madeleine’s abduction. This was confirmed by Mrs Fenn’s niece, who was staying with her at the time. During her vacation, she said she saw a man “hanging around the apartments”.

Pamela Fenn will be re-interviewed on Monday at the Department of Criminal Inquiry in Portimao. The associate national director of the PJ and for the Directoria of Faro confirmed to the DN that he foresees other “diligences” in the coming week, “and more interviews”. He called for calm in the Madeleine case, where at its height, foreign journalists from ten different publications camped out in the resort. “It’s not that it disrupts the inquiry. But it certainly doesn’t help”.

I thought it was rather a coincidence that when they visited Amsterdam and suddenly a letter appears in the holland press telling them where maddys body was buried, specially with them having Amsterdam connections, living there for many years. I don't think it takes Miss Marple to find the truth here, just look closer to home, the reward money offered would have brought news of her, had she been kidnapped.

Thanks but I will wait until i hear this on BBC or Sky news.
If it is true then I think there needs to be some serious investigation into the running of the fund. Since it is public money then do the public not have a right to know how it is being spent?

if it is true it disgusts me.people who haven't paid their own mortgages off would have donated to the fund. I thought it was set up as a reward fund.

I said yesterday that the sudden mention of the McConns coming back to England in the papers was a planted story so people didn't think they were fleeing justice when the blood results come back.

If they have paid off their mortgage in England, well that's fraud, plain and simple, and Mr Policeman should be hauling them in for that alone.
