The time I went there I saw the inside of a cloud :-( I didn't even bother taking any pictures.
But on a clear day, I can imagine you would have a fantastic view of Paris.

On a nice day you can see much of the center of Paris.
Most you see are roofs, but many of the famous landmarks are clearly visible.
If the weather is rainy or there are low clouds or mist, do no bother to go all the way to the top, then the sights from the lower, cheaper levels are as good.
Google for something like Eiffel tower pictures, top to see what is on-line, I am sure many people have put their pictures on-line. Mine are not yet, because of Yahoo photos stopping.
Added:
I put some photos on-line specially for you, just a few random ones I took on the top of the Eiffel tower:

Benn on the top of the Eiffel Tower 3 times.. SPECTACULAR!!
Well you see the whole/ (or most of) Paris under you...
Tips: Take the stairs not the lift... cheaper and faster (as you do not wait in the queue)
Secondly if it is a windy day, you will not be able to go up till the very top..

I was in Paris till previous week. From the top of tour Eiffel you have a spectacular view of the hole city, it seems like you were on the airplane. Cars and people tiny like toys.
If you don't have time, you could skip getting in Eiffel, but if the weather is good, it would be better not to miss it.

I like watching the beateaus mouche on the Seine, especially at night, but you can see lots.
The French gave the US the Statue of Liberty as a sign of friendship.... for those who hate France so much... Eiffiel engineered the internal structure for the statue. Also, I think the French are "educated" in colonization, not so much cowards... that's why they do not support war. They actually learned from their mistakes...

I've only been to the one in vegas but it only half the height of the one in paris. but you can still see quite alot of vegas from the top, so i suppose you would just be able to see most of paris from the top of the one over there.
hope this helps!!!!!!!( - :
