Well one cannot organise songs into folders and you cannot categorise them.one cannot download the entire folder but individual files.thats what samsung has improved upon.

Most Mp3 players have this problem.Apart from that the hanging problem would depend on the memory capacity and the brand u buy.I dont face it with the ipod nor the sony walkman.

The number of songs would depend upon ur choice and hence if u dont fill up ur player with songs or vids, then u wont face much of that prob..

A good battery life is essential and decent song quality would be ensured if u buy a good brand.Check out the reviews on the net before u buy nething.

Too small memory, sucks the battery in less than a couple of hours, expensive, requires special software so you can't just plug n play, only support mp3 / ac3 / wma and not many others like ogg, aiff etc.

Hard drive failure, crashes, battery losing it's charge (I think they can be charged about 1000 times before they need replacing). Ipods are the worst as the battery is built inside the unit and it has to be sent to Apple for a replacement (at a cost). My iRiver has a detachable battery, so when it needs replacing I just get a new one. :-D

On mine I have 500 or so different tracks ranging from classical to heavy metal. I always have it on the shuffle setting. When I switch on and start to use it it always starts with the same 3 tracks. It is quite irritating.

unlike tape recorders, when you stop mp3 players and restart you go to song no 1 instead of where you have stopped.i find that extremely frustrating
