I wouldn't. He has money for cats then he should think about his responsibility to his wardrobe. I would tell him to buy his own jeans. After all he's 31 and old enough to know what he should spend his money on. Cats wouldn't come into the equation where college is concerned or new clothes for college. He sounds like he's immature and taking it for granted that mom will pick up the tab. Tell him to grow up and stop spending his money on foolish things. You can't wear a cat to class. Although it may look kind of cute, lol.

Your son is old enough to make good judgement calls you. Don't help him out as he has to get his priorities right. Who plans to take care of the cats including feeding them? Perhaps he should move out and learn what life is all about (esp. if he forgot all about it).

At 31, it's time to cut the cord.
He won't grow up until he has to.
