when should/do i know when my car should get a tune up?

just curious becuz im trying to keep my car well maintained its a 2001 mitsubishi galant and it has over 109,000 miles on it and stuff..and im trying to have it running as long as possible!

That should be new enough to have a fuel injected computer controlled engine that doesn't need a traditional tune up (since the timing doesn't get out of whack as it did with older engines) but the engine will need to have filter, oil, etc changed every so often.

The manual should give you some clues as to how often that needs to be done and any good mechanic should be able to tell you when the next service will be due.

I would think that with the mileage on your car, you are about due for one. Also , any time that you feel the car not running right, then have some one check it out. good luck.
