Equality between men and women does not and will never exist because men and women are NOT equal!

Do you know what makes the above statement a fact?

--Yes, we're not exactly the same.
-- Even as far as equal rights, nothing is ever in complete equilibrium. You always have some deviation (standard deviation) from the middle. Even given this, there is way too many variables involved to give a true determination of possible inequalities.

Object Ire: I noticed a few times that you say 2+2=4 is same, but different. It's Not. Mathematically, there is no concept of 'different, but equal'. Visually, it appears different to facilitate computations, but based on the mathematical theory it's identical, as stated in your definitions. I think you're looking for the definition you have listed as "Having the same privileges, status, or rights: equal before the law.", which is a social equality(not a mathematical one).
Just trying to help you out.

True Patriot: Funny you mention her calling those who don't believe in her biased opinions as "Female Chauvinist Pigs". This "You're either with me or a chauvinist" attitude reminds me of a particular president. Maybe some prior Fascist leaders also.

There will not only never be equality between men and women, there will never be equality between most of the 6 billion people on earth. The issue was never equality, but EQUAL RIGHTS. I dont know how that became equality along the way. Its like football, the rules for the game should apply to all the teams equally, but only because the rules and laws of the game are equal doesnt mean the game will end in a draw.

To say "men and women are (not) equal" is irresponsibly simplistic. It's like saying "people are good" or "things are cool."

Equal in what ways? Physical ability? Intelligence? Anatomy? Emotions? Equal in value? In importance? In ability to govern? In ability to raise emotionally healthy children?

There are entire library databases devoted to research on gender differences. This comment is like opening Pandora's Box. If you say "the statement is true," or "the statement is false," you're wrong. The topic needs more specificity.

Equal rights for men and women are attainable. We are human beings separated only by gender are you telling me that is more powerful than our combined brain power. The will to change our way of thinking has to come first.

Nothing. The speaker believes that equality means sameness. This is not so, and everyone knows that it won't happen. We are simply trying to ensure equal rights, equal responsibilities, and the destruction of rigid gender roles. Thank you.

b. Adequate in extent, amount, or degree.
5. Impartial; just; equitable.
6. Tranquil; equable.

All human beings should be treated equally. Just because it doesn't happen in our country, doesn't mean that isn't the truth.

Any particular man has flaws and any particular woman has flaws.

There is no way that anyone can say that "men and women" are not equal. They are both categories of human beings. The same thing = equal.

And to Odd Little Animal: there's nothing special about a sell-out. Please educate yourself by reading Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy. She writes about women like you in there, it might really be enlightening to you.

The same thing could be said about men getting most of the managerial positions just for being a man as can be said about women getting maternity leave. You just like taking the side of your oppressors because licking their sorry behinds has gotten you somewhere in life. Hope you like it inside the bowels of patriarchy.

Its a fact because there are things men excel at that women just are not designed to do well and visa versa. So yeah....

Men and women are not the same. We are physically and mentally different and always will be. Equal means the same and men and women are not the same.
