Haji was my Yorkshire Terrier. He was my best friend's dog and my friend was dying of liver cancer and asked me to take care of Haji. I promised that I would and my friend died in 1994. In 2002 Haji was 18 years old and very frail. I knew I should have probably put him down, but that was not my promise. Haji was with me at a friend's house who had a swimming pool and because his poor eyesight and not being familiar with a pool, fell in and drowned because he could not swim due to his old age.

Haji is still my dog, even though he is not with me. When I buried him in the rain, I had a tenant for another house I rented out and he came over to pay the rent. I was wet and muddy and with a shovel in my hand, I could only look at him and say, "go home".

My dog's name is Haji and he is a great dog.
