Donmustard, Iraq did not orchestrate or attack the U. S. just about seven years in the past. Asking somebody to tutor a detrimental is in many cases the excited utterance of somebody who lacks wisdom. Fanciful conspiracy theories are borne from such perspectives. in factor of fact stranger than fiction however. Now, my answer: the U. S. invaded Iraq for not complying with UN resolutions to permit weapons inspectors into many of their centers, and to pre-empt the form and use of WMD's, which later proved to be fake/fabricated, information. this documents replaced into then used via the Neo-con Bush Jr administration as a pretext for conflict, and extremely probably an threat to guard the two oil reserves and contracts for re-development Iraq after "liberation". The sheer incompetence and politicising of dodgy intelligence via the Bush governement washed away any good-will that the U. S. garnered in the aftermath of 9-11. i'm not American, so i will work out the subject in a diverse way from maximum individuals. as to if the vast majority of Democrats believe this declare you're making, i'm unable to declare, yet there has been a blurring and transference of blame for the assaults in 2001 to Iraq in some degree, however that's frequently with the aid of media.

The World War 2 era Japanese weren't involved in the attack on 9/11 either, but it still made sense to attack them. Some people act as if 9/11 is the only bad thing that ever happened, or ever will happen. It's not.

We invaded Iraq because Saddam Hussein was supporting terrorists (like the suicide bombers in Israel), suppressing his people, trying to get nuclear weapons, and had a history of attacking his neighbors and using weapons of mass destruction. We wanted to get rid of him, and replace him with a government that wouldn't do those things.

1. As we have seen, they follow us wherever we go.
2. The flats of Iraq are less difficult fighting territory than the mountains of Afghanistan.
3. The cowards will put civilians between us and them wherever the battle is, so establishing a more favorable battlefield doesn't change the collateral equation one iota.
4. Bin Laden is still out there and he thinks he can outwait us, but he is wrong. He's just waiting for us to make a mistake like tipping the power balance in Pakistan so the wackos can get the Paki-nukes. But we will wait even longer for him to do something stupid.
5. Meanwhile a whole bunch of them have moved to Iraq and need killing desperately. We're killing them as fast as possible.
6. If you don't like the way things are going, I suggest you join the military and get promoted to General, run for President or apply for the Sec Def job at the Pentagon.

Is America better off? It scared Libya into giving up its nukes you tell me.

You REALLY don't know? Hmmmm...where do I start? Let's see...the mass-murdering dictator (Sadaam Hussein...ever heard of him?) of the country was harboring the terrorists who were involved in the 9/11 attacks. He was also providing them with resources and a place to hide. That's one.

2nd, he was one of them! He believes that we (Americans) are the "Great Satan" and that the only thing to "do about that" is to kill us all! That includes you! These people don't just hate Bush. They hate everyone who is American and it is their life's goal to take us out. Sadaam Hussein had the power, ability, and means to do just that, or at least provide other terrorists with resources to do it for him.

Lastly, even if we DIDN'T have the reasons I mentioned above, it would still have been a good idea to have taken Sadaam down. He was torturing and murdering hundreds of thousands of his own people. Think about it, if it were YOU who was being tortured by an evil dictator, wouldn't you want some other country to come in and take the guy out? Do you HONESTLY think that Bush was just sitting around bored in the oval office and decided to invade a country? Please! It amazes me how ignorant you liberals are.

It allowed Bush to stuff his pants and take a picture with a Mission Accomplished banner years ago and the war is STILL going on years later.

It made Halliburton richer.

That's about it.
