lright, i'm 16, i recently met a girl that i really like, she's smart, cute funny, and just amazing. We chat all the time, and i think she may like me. What i'm wondering, is am i crazy to start carrying a condom? She's 4 years older than me, is that too much older, does that mean there's now way she's interested? I'm not really expecting that we'll have sex, although i'm starting to want to, but i figure, just in case, it would be stupid to do it without one. Any comments you have, please post, i'm really curious what other people think

I don't think you should have sex at the age of 16, unless you really want to. But still, think of the risks: would you like to become a dad at 16? it will ruin your life. In your place, i would find a 16 year old girlfriend, 20 is way too old 4 you. By the way, always carry a condom if you think you are ready to have sex. But just think about it again.

ok. so your 16 and she's 20. it doesnt matter how old a person is as long as you truely like eachother. now about the whole sex thing, i would suggest on waiting, until your 18 so that your legal because if you have sex now, and someone found out, they could charge the girl for rape. weird i know. but if you do have sex, and i seriously think that you shouldnt, i would tottaly wear a condom. but why would you think that i you don't even know if she's interested or not? so obviously you want to have sex with her, ok. just hang loose for a while and just continue to do the things that you both have been doing. now i shouldnt be giving you this advice, but, maybe in one of your guy's conversations you could ask her what she thinks about you and all that good stuff and then eventually bring up the whole sex thing. just keep in mind that if the condom breaks, your screwed!

Condoms are not helpful if you don't have one with you. You need to realize that condoms are only 86% effective if you use them properly. Obviously if you don't use them properly, they are less effective than that.
86% effective means that that 14% of the time she will get pregnant and that if she is HIV positive, 14% of the time you will catch that and die.
86% effective doesn't mean that they will be effective the first time you use them and for 85 times after that. You never know when you will be in the 14%.She may get pregnant or you may catch HIV on the very first time.
I don't know about you, but those statistics scare me to death! I wouldn't have sex just to have fun or with just anyone. Why not wait until if the girl gets pregnant, you can marry her or even better, are already married to her?
At 16 y/o, if you get a girl pregnant it will ruin your life, as well as the girl's and the baby's life. For a baby to grow up properly, he/she needs both a mother and a father that live together.
All that talk of "love is enough", is a load of crap that people who are ignorant say. You will have plenty of time to have all the sex you want after you're married.

Get a 16 year old girlfriend. Hold hands. Kiss her goodnight, but stop there.
Geez. Do people only want to have sex??!!?? There is SO much more to life and you are just starting to experience it. Give LIFE a chance and don't mess it up with sex. Not yet.

A 20 year old has no business with a 16 year old.
Sorry.
Don't worry about sex quite yet. Worry about getting out of school, attending your grammar and literature classes and getting a good job one day.
Leave sex to the adults.

i think it's always good to have a condom just in case!
one time, my boyfriend and i (only 18 at the time) wanted to have sex, but i wouldn't let him go in me until he ran into a drug store and got a condom or 2.
it's always good to be prepared and age doesn't matter. it's the connection or the "love" factor that does! =] good luck!

not a stupid idea at all. believe me. its always better to have protection in case the time comes up then to get in the mood and have sex without protection.
